3MJ Realty has deep roots in the Cambridge community dating back to the 1960’s when Max Naggar founded The Cambridge Trading Company. The company started out as a drug store, specializing in health and beauty products, but eventually evolved into apparel, eventually becoming ‘Manhattan Clothing’ in the 1970s.

In 1990, the Naggar’s began to venture into commercial real estate, incorporating their experience in retail to identify underutilized properties in premier locations, whereby they could add value by renovating the properties and lease to strong, national tenants. Their first acquisition was 579-605 Massachusetts Avenue, an assemblage of five parcels that was in poor condition, but in an irreplaceable location. By utilizing their knowledge of the retail industry, the Sponsors have since completely renovated the buildings and leased to a diverse mix of regional and national tenants.
